This is a limited edition print of two 'American Kestrels' from an original coloured pencil drawing.
 
This drawing was recently exhibited as part of a gallery exhibition in Portland (Oregon, USA) called 'Fractured Aviary' which was currated by Antler Gallery and Yale University to raise awareness of the birds whose lives are affected by the tragedy of window strikes. I created this drawing to symbolise not only the sad loss of such beautiful birds but also the tragedy felt by dependent partners and juveniles who are left behind to struggle. 
 
This drawing has included many hours of coloured pencil work, with multiple layers being used to build up the thick texture of the feathers. I aim for my work to capture the soul of an animal/bird, the essence of its being and the mood of a single moment frozen in time. All encased in the intricate detail of my signature style.
 
I am now delighted to offer a small limited number of prints available of this beautiful duo.

Giclee Prints are beautifully printed on finely textured Somerset Enhanced Radiant White Acid-Free Cotton Rag Paper using Archival Museum Quality Inks, guaranteed to withstand fading for at least 100 years.

All prints are personally signed and numbered and come with a certificate of authenticity.

Mounting (matting) is provided by a Fine Art Trade Guild Professional Framer. Mounts (matts) are cut to a 45 degree bevel cut, they are 100% acid free, using conservation mountboard which is essential to guarantee protection of the artwork.
